This not only increases your chances of successful registration but also enhances your reputation.

Our CQC registration support team will involve you throughout each stage of the application and registration for the provider and registered manager providing invaluable guidance throughout every step of the process, from understanding the application requirements to preparing the necessary documentation. This is an important conerstone for your business. This experience will help you to fully understand the significance of each step and how it relates to your fitness interview, responsibilities and running your organisation safely.

Just like what you would do if buying a car, you need to know its features such as engine size and performance. Be in the know and fully understand all the evidence to be submitted to the CQC. The same proactive approach should be taken with your CQC Registration and Compliance. After all, it is about you and your business. As a starting point aim to be independent as much as possible to remain empowered as the individual who is going to be facing the CQC Inspectors.

As an organisation with learning and development at heart, we will mentor you throughout as part of helping you to understand CQC registration requirements and the competencies that will make your care business successful. We believe this approach of working together will enable you to identify areas of strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats which can then be addressed to ensure you are fully prepared for your CQC registration. This approach will also make you confident and ready for your fitness interview. Our CQC registration support service is not just about meeting CQC fundamental standards and regulatory requirements. As a new provider, you should aim to have a good foundation supported by systems that deliver person cantered care and meet needs. Your care business must also comply with other regulations such as information management, employee rights, food safety, environmental, health and safety.

You need to have passion and dedication with your CQC registration. Running a care business cannot be a sideshow or a retirement package where you can be absent and be a part-timer. The CQC has serious expectations for the registered manager to be hands-on in running their organisation to ensure safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness, and well-led.

Hype and false claims about CQC registration

You should not be intimidated and believe the hype about complicated CQC registration applications requiring experts and consultants at every stage. Several organisations sell packages and expensive services while pushing this false narrative. The opposite is actually the case. The CQC themselves predict it should take about sixty minutes, with all the information at hand, to complete the application on their portal. If you have the time and commitment, you should be able to register as a provider with free guidance readily available from the CQC portal.

We believe the main challenge with CQC registration is inadequate preparation and rushing. At first glance, CQC registration appears too easy, and it is tempting for others to try their luck by simply buying policies and submitting their application on the CQC portal. We advise you not to underestimate the quality of evidence and competencies required to meet CQC registration requirements. This is the stage we believe you need support to become experts of the CQC fundamental standards and regulatory requirements and be able to shape the destiny of your care business in your image.

CQC Registration Requirements

Achieving CQC Registration requirements involve gaining a CQC countersigned DBS for the registered manager. If you are a registered practitioner of bodies such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) there is no need to have a CQC countersigned DBS. A CQC countersigned DBS will be valid up to a year from the date highlighted on the certificate. You then need to complete two online applications as part of CQC Registration.

The first main application is for the Provider (your care organisation). You will need to provide information about your organisation including address and contact details. You will also need to provide information about your Nominated Individual including the information about their enhanced DBS (This can be any enhanced DBS dated within 12 months). You will need to provide your Financial Viability form, statement of purpose and key policies to meet CQC registration requirements. You can refer to our guide regarding the 8 Steps to register with the CQC.

The second one is for the Registered Manager. Your registered manager application will need a CV highlighting your history from 16 years old. There should not be any gaps of more than four months with your history. You will be expected to submit evidence of your qualifications to meet CQC registration requirements.

Help and Support with your CQC Registration

It is always a good idea to make initial contact with the CQC independently and access information about the registration process and requirements, which is publicly available. This will also give you an idea of the areas where you need support. It will also enable you to remain in control just in case you want to change consultants (if applicable).

CQC Provider Portal

Although we can carry out all registration activities, we encourage you to start the CQC application process by applying for portal access. You can use this CQC Provider Portal Login Link to register your service and kick start your CQC Registration Application.

As we have already stated above, we aim to complement your service rather than take over. Everything should be looked at as part of a puzzle rather than individual elements. Getting your registration right and building your business with a good foundation will affect everything positively, including future inspections and compliance checks. But suppose your foundation is based on just buying policies, copying and getting others to carry out the foundation. In that case, you risk not having control and a greater understanding of the relationship between your organisation and regulations. The consequences could be unsafe service, confusion and being unprepared for inspections.

We want you to have a solid foundation and confidence which will allow you to navigate the day-to-day challenges of running a health and social care organisation. So rather than you getting a consultancy organisation like us to start your CQC registration independently from scratch, we were hoping you could work with us in partnership and be at the forefront of your application. Our service complements your strengths and ensures you have a solid foundation built on understanding the relationship between your services, the CQC, regulations and legislation.
