Ofsted Application Support - Forms SC1 and SC2

Ofsted Application Support

Caretips can assist you with registering your services with Ofsted, whether it is a children’s home, supported accommodation for 16- to 17-year-olds and holiday schemes for disabled children. We can advise on the latest Ofsted registration costs and requirements. We can support you with both normal Ofsted registrations and priority applications.

Ofsted Registration Application Stages and Procedures

Registering with Ofsted is done through three stages. Ofsted normally recommends everything is in place before submitting your application to prevent delays.

First Stage

This is when the application is accepted. Your application to Ofsted is only achieved when form SC1 is submitted along with all completed form SC2’s. Upon submission of all SC2 forms the status of your application changes to under-review. Ofsted will also issue their invoice at this time. Nothing happens further without paying this fee.

Stage Two

This is when Ofsted will carry out further checks particularly regarding DBS checks, GP health assessment and with your local authority. Ofsted will seek reference requests at this time. It is important to chase your referees to avoid delaying the application. Ofsted may request further information based on the feedback they would have got from their checks.

Stage Three

Will take place when Ofsted have received all the information they require. This is when the fit-ness interview takes place. This is your opportunities to demonstrate how you will meet all regulations and manage the service safely and effectively.

We also assist with your statement of purpose, and location assessment. Our aim is to streamline this process for you so that you can focus on providing excellent care. Our Ofsted consultants are more than happy to support you in drafting a cashflow forecast and business plan. Rest assured that our expertise and commitment to excellence will be at your disposal throughout this process.

We will check your application to ensure the quality of evidence provided. Your organisation’s details should match with companies’ house registration details. There should not be any gaps in employment history for the registered manager. You will need to choose appropriate people for references. We can also advise on qualifications and regulation issues to ensure your application is smooth.

Help completing Form SC2 Application

We are happy to assist you with completing form SC02. This is the form needed to connect to form SC1 when registering. It also connects you to an already registered service.

The SC2 form is crucial for providing accurate information about nominated individuals, registered managers, directors, or anyone connected with the management of the service. All people responding form SC2 should have a current DBS check. You will be expected to have an Ofsted countersigned DBS or have one which is on the update service. To ensure that your application is thorough and complete, please follow these steps:

1. Start by carefully reviewing the form and familiarising yourself with its sections and requirements.

2. Begin by providing your personal details such as your full name, contact information, and any relevant identification numbers.

3. Move on to declaring your experience in the field by listing your previous roles, responsibilities, and achievements related to the management of services.

4. Next, highlight your qualifications by stating any relevant certifications or educational background that support your role in managing the service effectively.

5. Ensure that all personal details are accurately filled out and double-check for any errors or omissions before submitting the form.
